About
Over 40 years of helping clients enjoy what they've built.
Florida Resource Solutions
is a Delray Beach practice built around direct work with Ismael Llera. He spent most of his career on the securities side, including years at a major Wall Street firm, and later ran a publicly traded company as its chief executive. He now works on retirement income, annuities, life insurance, and what gets left behind, with family business owners and people close to retiring across Palm Beach County and the rest of Florida.
The practice
You work directly with the person making the recommendation.
The person asking the questions is the person making the recommendation, and the person who picks up when you call two years later. Nothing gets handed off partway through, and you never have to bring someone new up to speed on a situation you have already explained once.
The work covers retirement income and annuities, life insurance and policy reviews, legacy and beneficiary work, and coordination with your attorney about the arrangements that decide what happens to a family business. Those pieces move each other. Deciding when to step back from a business changes the income question, and the names on a beneficiary form decide where any of it ends up. You get them looked at together rather than one at a time.
Most clients we meet in person are in Palm Beach County, with others served throughout Florida by video when that is easier.
What we believe

Nobody gets a recommendation before we know what they want.
The first conversation produces no products, no illustrations, and no numbers to take home. It produces a picture of what you are trying to build and who you are taking care of. That order is not a courtesy; it is the only way a recommendation can be checked against anything.

Every trade-off gets named before you decide.
Caps and participation rates limit what you earn in a strong year. Surrender periods decide what it costs to change your mind. Cost of insurance rises as you age. Tax treatment depends on how the thing was funded. You will hear all of it in the same conversation as the upside, and in the same tone.

We say so when the answer is to leave it alone.
Some reviews turn up a real gap and we go to work. Others turn up a policy that is doing its job and should be left where it is. We will tell you which one you have.

We stay reachable after the paperwork.
When you call, you reach the person you worked with, not a service line and not whoever happens to be at the desk. That matters most when something changes: a business changes hands, a parent needs care, a grandchild arrives, health shifts. Those are the points where what you put in place before may no longer do what you need it to do. Nothing here gets set up once and left alone, and you don't have to wait for an annual review to ask a question.
How we work
Three steps, and what each one leaves you with.
The same sequence every time, whether you are reviewing one policy or deciding when to turn savings into income.
1
We ask first.
The first meeting is mostly questions, and most of them are about your life rather than your money. What you want the next ten years to look like. Who depends on you and for how long. What you already own, and what you believe it does. Where the business fits, if there is one. This usually runs for about an hour and nothing gets recommended in it.
What you get from this stage:
a clear statement of what you are working toward, in your words, that everything afterward gets measured against. You also get to meet the person you would be working with before any paperwork exists.
2
We show you the trade-offs.
We map where you stand now and what it would take to get where you are going. Where a gap needs filling, we look across the carriers we are appointed with rather than reaching for one company's product. Where an annuity, a policy, or a beneficiary change is part of the answer, you see the cost and the constraint alongside the benefit.
What you get from this stage: options rather than an offer, and enough understanding of each one to explain it to your spouse without calling us to translate.
3
We stay reachable.
Once something is in place, we check in. Life changes and strategies do not update themselves. A business changes hands, a parent needs care, a grandchild arrives, Medicare timing comes around, a beneficiary form goes stale.
What you get from this stage:
a phone number that still works after the paperwork is signed, and someone who notices when your situation has moved.
Meet the Founder
Ismael Llera
Founder
Ismael began his banking career in a management training program after earning an associate degree in computer science from Miami Dade College and a bachelor's degree in economics and finance from Barry University. He later moved into branch management, real estate lending in Miami, and securities, where he spent most of his career. He guided clients through the market turbulence of 1987 and the financial crisis of 2008, introduced capital opportunities to privately held companies seeking early-stage funding, and spent years at a major Wall Street firm helping clients preserve substantial wealth.
He later took on the role of CEO of a publicly traded Florida corporation listed on the OTC market. His leadership was more than just a title on a résumé—it is documented in the public record, with his signature appearing on official filings submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Born in Havana, Cuba, Ismael came to Miami, Florida, in 1968 as a young child with his parents and older sister. Both parents had been professional educators in Cuba. As a Hispanic professional who is fluent in Spanish, he brings a practical advantage to serving Florida families, where clear conversations in either language can make important financial decisions easier. Watching his parents start over with nothing shaped his urgency: he would rather help you settle something this year than keep revisiting it five years from now.
Where
we work
Palm Beach County in person. The rest of Florida on video.
The practice is based in Delray Beach, which sits between Boca Raton to the south and Boynton Beach to the north. That geography is why most first meetings happen in person and why the in-person sessions we host stay close to home.
For clients elsewhere in Florida, we meet by video. If we haven't named your town, call and ask.
You've read the page.
The next part is a conversation.
What a page can't tell you is whether this is a fit for your situation. That takes an hour and a few questions. Come with whatever you have, and we’ll see how we can help.
